2025 Cadillac CT5 vs. Mercedes-Benz E-Class

2025 Cadillac CT5

Already a model of consistency in the Cadillac model lineup, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 brings a vigorous new attitude as this luxury sedan underwent a refresh. With a new interior, exterior and numerous updates, the CT5 is better than ever. But how does it fare against fierce competition? Read along with the team at McGee Cadillac as we compare the 2025 Cadillac CT5 against the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Specifications & Features  2025 Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury AWD 2025 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
MRSP $63,058 $74,900
Horsepower 335 255
Torque (lb-ft) 405 295
Fuel Efficiency (L/100km) 13.1 / 9.0 (city/hwy) 10.0 / 7.2 (city/hwy)

Performance Battle

Coming out of the gate, the CT5 flexes its powerful 3.0 L V6 engine, sporting 335 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Though a 2.0 L, 4-cylinder engine is standard, upgrading to the V6 is easy against the Benz as the price difference still leans heavily in the Cadillac’s favour. Drivers will also receive Cadillac’s AWD system, Drive Mode Select, and more.

With the 2025 E-Class, a 2.0L Inline-4 turbo with mild hybrid drive is standard, paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission, allowing 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Benz offers other similar performance features to the CT5, with 4Matic All-Wheel Drive, and Dynamic Select (drive mode selector). However, those looking to upgrade the powertrain to the inline-6 3.0 L engine will find an $84,900 price tag attached. Though both sedans offer similar features, we feel like the Cadillac is miles ahead in the performance category due to value.

Interior & Exterior Design

Boasting a brand new design, the Cadillac CT5 bursts into the design category, with a completely new front end, featuring a new grille and front fascia. Drivers will find new interior and exterior lighting groups, with gorgeous stacking vertical LED headlamps.

With its muscular design, star-patterned grille, and sharp LED lighting, the E-Class offers a sophisticated and reserved design. Undoubtedly, both sedans offer a gorgeous design with slight variations, delivering a timeless look and scoring evenly in this category.

Technology & Safety

Coming into 2025, the CT5 offers a ton of brand-new technology. Drivers will find a new 33” Diagonal Advanced LED Display and multiple new features in the CT5’s standard safety group. Now sporting Driver Attention Assist, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, the CT5 has vastly improved in this category. And that’s even before mentioning the new 15-speaker surround sound AKG audio system.

The E-Class delivers a comprehensive offering of safety and technology. Multimedia is highlighted by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster 14.4-inch touchscreen central multimedia display, while the Burmester 4D Surround Sound System offers premium sound, it is not a standard offering. While the E-Class also offers numerous parallel features to the CT5, many safety technologies are not standard.

CT5 vs. E-Class Verdict

Though the CT5 and E-Class are undoubtedly both top-tier modern luxury sedan options, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 offers significantly more value for consumers, thanks to astronomically lower MSRP, and the inclusion of significantly more standard technology across trim levels.
